I have three girls and a four year old son. So, this is all new to me. This boy loves snakes, reptiles and dinosaurs like any other boy but planets away from how girls are.
The Lair recently opened at the Los Angeles Zoo and my son is in reptile heaven. I love, love how amazed he was and I found a new appreciation for these creatures that used to scare me. I love looking at them at a whole new light. I can't wait to go back.

Bottega Louie
I've been obsessed with Bottega Louie for a few years now. Everything is so good over there. I love taking photos of everything and eating everything.
I've blogged about Bottega Louie for so many times in my old blog. Find some of them by clicking on the numbers below.

All images below are my own, please link back to this blog if in any case you want to use the photos
I've probably tried almost everything on the menu and every macaron flavor unless they come up with new ones which they seem to do every season. I don't think I'll ever get tired of going there. I'm pretty fortunate to be only around 10-15 minutes away (minus the rush hour traffic) from Bottega Louie.
I'm a happy girl.
What I recommend you try from the restaurant are the ones I always get. I have a bad habit of getting the same thing at restaurants. I'm very difficult to please when it comes to food so trust me if I say it's good then It's really good.
When you visit, try the
porkchop
mussels
short ribs
Bianco pizza
my ultimate favorite the portobello fries! Can never get wrong with that!
for dessert, the le grand macaron
then after your meal, drop by the macaron section to take home the best macarons I've had in the entire Los Angeles area.

What I don't like about the place is that it gets sooo loud. It's impossible to have a decent conversation there even if they are sitting near you. I blame the architecture and the design. Very high ceilings and all marble walls and floors are really just throwing all the noise of people up, down all around then back at you. It's quite crazy specially that it's always, always packed but you know what, that doesnt stop me from going there at all. The price is also very affordable compared to other places in L.A. The macarons are always pricey as anywhere else but still lower than those in Paulette and other places plus the packaging are to die for. Divine! It's our own Laduree! No need to go to Paris. or maybe for now. Of course I'd still choose Laduree any day but Bottega Louie will do for now.

This store near our home is a haven for used clothing for babies and kids.
They buy used clothes/shoes/accessories/toys of kids up to seven years old.
They pay you cash or store credit.
They also have a great vintage clothing rack, lots of activities for moms and kids and other handmade and new things for the little people in your life.
The staff and the owner, Traci is such a sweetie, you would enjoy your time while perusing the store.
So if you live in the Eagle Rock area, come by and you will be glad you did.

I can't believe Summer is almost ending. This is actually the first time I'm actually enjoying the Summer. We had too much rain the last two seasons. We needed all this heat. So early this Summer, we went to see the Tim Burton (more photos here) exhibit, had picnics at the park, had dinner with friends which we rarely ever do, watched a lot of movies from our local video store/Netflix and the movie theater! (we love watching movies), we dined out almost everyday, had lots of yogurt trips at our favorite froyo place. We still haven't visited the beach but that is definitely a must do this summer!
So, here are my goals this Summer

1. Fondue night! I've been wanting to do this.. It would be so much fun.
2. Beach trip of course.
3. A picnic at Griffith Park. Though we live so close to Griffith Park, we always go to the one that is in walking distance from our home.
4. Ice cream party. I want to do this asap. Unusual flavored ice cream and toppings.
5. Make French Macarons. I've had many attempts. It is a tough recipe and a quite intimidating but I love them so much that I really want to try again.
6. Smores night. We did this last Halloween with my kid's friends from school. It was so much fun.
7. Host a dinner for my mister's friends. This is long over due. I really have to do this asap because they are all waiting for it. We had an awesome dinner last month at his friend's house. We had the most amazing organic dinner. We had bruschetta, sangria, baked chicken, roasted veggies and organic cake pops!
8.An out of town trip. I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. San Francisco or Las Vegas perhaps? It's so hard to get away when you have four kids and sky high gas prices but it's okay to dream right?
9. Aquarium of the Pacific trip. My son would love this place. We went there way before he was born.

Only one month left until the kids are back to school. I hope we get to do all these and then some.
