This week has been busy and exciting! A couple of baby shoots (photos above) and fashion shoots for an upcoming relaunch of my handmade avante garde eco friendly clothes (sneak peek soon) and a lot of planning and prepping for scheduled engagement and wedding photo shoots for this coming months! It's been crazy but I love every minute of it.
Today, I need to catch up on laundry and chores that had been waiting for me all week!

The family dog.
He had his photo shoot today and he looked oh so fine. He posed like a pro too! I have a love-hate relationship with him. He gives my vocal chords some exercise when he runs out through a half open door then goes near the street and I have to chase him in my pj's at noon (when it's odd to still be in pj's) and then he pretends not to hear me when I call his name. He also constantly scratches my arm as I am watching an important show on tv, as if he has an emergency that I must attend to which often turns out to be a real emergency because he happened to pee on the carpet again because he couldn't hold it any longer and then I chase him around the house but I really never get to catch him and I don't really know what I'll do when I do catch him. He never really sits when asked and he still barks at my mom and sister after 4 years. He humps our leg when we laugh and get really loud. I don't know, that turns him on or something. When I'm trying to sleep, the sound of his feet on the wooden floor is the most annoying thing to hear, as if a woman in heels can't decide where she should go. It drives me crazy!
But you know what, at the end of the day, he is still the baby in this house. The youngest of all my kids and when he looks at me with his puppy eye (because the other one is usually hidden underneath all that fur) it still melts my heart like a popsicle in the summertime. We love our Story.

It was his 13th birthday last week so we thought it was perfect for a mini photo shoot to remember the special day.
I think he's a natural. This little guy needs to be a model! He was supposed to have an appointment at a modeling agency back in Vancouver but my sister forgot to go to the actual appointment!

Here are some photos of desserts (and pretty things) I took for a client. She makes the best cake pops I've ever had in my life and not to mention, the prettiest ever!
I should've taken more photos of these sweets but they disappeared way too fast!

Today was awesome, first we spent half the day buying a new bed. I've been wanting a bed for such a long time. I didn't know that it would be like buying a new car. We got the memory foam bed!!! I fell in love with it.I can't wait for it to be delivered! I just feel bad that Macy's (where we bought it) will be picking up our old bed but it goes straight to the landfill. I really hope that someday they would find a way to recycle these things or probably give it to someone who can.

Then after that, we took a little adventure. My mister, my son and I took the train to downtown L.A. and Hollywood.

Lovers on the train
I've only been on the train for two times in my life. It was epic. We played tourist and it was so much fun.
Where else in the world would you find a ceiling like this? Only in Hollywood. Thanks for recycling!
Imagine all the movies that were made to fill all the spaces on the ceiling that seems to go on forever.
So beautiful.
Huge film cameras can also be found there, donated by Paramount pictures. Again, I'm happy they found a good use for these things.
We all had an awesome time. I'm so tired right now, I cannot imagine how people could do this everyday. I feel blessed that I don't have to and I feel blessed that I was able to do it.

Bottega Louie
I've been obsessed with Bottega Louie for a few years now. Everything is so good over there. I love taking photos of everything and eating everything.
I've blogged about Bottega Louie for so many times in my old blog. Find some of them by clicking on the numbers below.
1,2,3,4

All images below are my own, please link back to this blog if in any case you want to use the photos
I've probably tried almost everything on the menu and every macaron flavor unless they come up with new ones which they seem to do every season. I don't think I'll ever get tired of going there. I'm pretty fortunate to be only around 10-15 minutes away (minus the rush hour traffic) from Bottega Louie.
I'm a happy girl.
What I recommend you try from the restaurant are the ones I always get. I have a bad habit of getting the same thing at restaurants. I'm very difficult to please when it comes to food so trust me if I say it's good then It's really good.
When you visit, try the
porkchop
mussels
short ribs
Bianco pizza
my ultimate favorite the portobello fries! Can never get wrong with that!
for dessert, the le grand macaron
then after your meal, drop by the macaron section to take home the best macarons I've had in the entire Los Angeles area.

What I don't like about the place is that it gets sooo loud. It's impossible to have a decent conversation there even if they are sitting near you. I blame the architecture and the design. Very high ceilings and all marble walls and floors are really just throwing all the noise of people up, down all around then back at you. It's quite crazy specially that it's always, always packed but you know what, that doesnt stop me from going there at all. The price is also very affordable compared to other places in L.A. The macarons are always pricey as anywhere else but still lower than those in Paulette and other places plus the packaging are to die for. Divine! It's our own Laduree! No need to go to Paris. or maybe for now. Of course I'd still choose Laduree any day but Bottega Louie will do for now.

I apologize for the lack of posts. I've been busy editing photos from recent photo sessions but I am finally done, yay! And I can relax and enjoy what's left of President's Day.

Here are some of the photos I've taken from my last photo shoot. Isn't she just stunning?
I wish I can share all of her photos with you!
I have a ton of photo sessions coming up. I'll go and chill now while I still can. Life is good.

Breakfast 6:30am
I made chocolate chip french toasts.
While eating I made these for my girl's closest friends
Marshmallow sticks. Aren't they so pretty?
Made these rings out of pipe cleaners
9:am
I blew balloons then after a dozen, I felt dizzy! Good thing I found a pump and I got to finish blowing up 40 red and white balloons!!! Then impatiently waited for this little guy to wake up...

11-ish

He finally wakes up. He loved it! The first thing he said? "but pink is for girls Mama"
Then my mr. gave me $$. so romantic right? hehe So I've decided to do a tea party with my girls, so after picking them up from school we went to a parisian bakery.
We bought boxes and boxes of treats!
Then passed by In and out. They had burgers. I didn't eat.
Here are some of what we bought.
Our Valentine tea party!
Not only pretty but so good too!
I finally got to buy Shiseido.
The perfect make-up for Asian skin
Dinner
8pm
We went to Chinatown to eat. We had fried rice, crispy noodles, calamari, fried chicken, broccolli and sweet and sour pork.I ate like I'm not already stuffed.
Waiting at the restaurant for food on Valentine's Day was dreadful. We waited on our table for an hour. Food orders were messed up, the servers were going crazy, they even forgot to put salt on the calamari and didn't do anything about it when we complained and hot tea came when some of us are about to choke. It was chaotic but we completely understand.
Happy Valentines Day! A day late but I hope you had a blast. How was it?

Yesterday was our tattoo party/yard sale. It was so much fun! I had a small tattoo done but that deserves another post.
It was done at our home by my son's godfather.
Then my family and my cousins went to a korean bbq restaurant.
Love this.
Then we went to hunt for desserts and then went totally crazy and almost bought all the desserts on the menu.
People in line were not too happy.
After desserts, we went to get blu-rays, my cousins slept over and then we watched 'THE THING', it was pretty good but not crazy good. It kind of reminded me of the 80's movie The Blob.

It was a beautiful day and it was nice hanging out with some of my favorite people in the world.

Yesterday we went to one of my favorite places in Culver City called Royal-T. We were there at the Alice Premiere and some other art exhibits in the past. I've heard that there was a Cosplay event happening so we drove through terrible traffic to get there.
We had this Jasmine blossom tea that we always order and as always it was quite a treat watching it blossom inside the tea pot. We are always in awe as if it was the first time.
After this girl got interviewed, it was our turn. My girls and I were interviewed about Japanese pop culture in California. It was for a tv show called Mr. Sunday on Fuji tv in Japan. It was quite a long interview, how I wish we could see a clip somewhere. I remember many years ago, when I was 19, I was standing on a street in Beverly Hills when I was approached by a couple of Japanese Photographers and asked if they could take a photo of me for a Japanese magazine about L.A. street style.
I remember I was wearing my bell bottom denims, plum doc marten boots, a vintage shirt and a huge Tommy Hilfiger duffel bag. I wonder where that photo of me ended up but I know it's somewhere out there, lost in Japan just like what will happen to this video of me and my daughters. I find it quite amazing that I feel so connected to that place that I've never even been to.
We had the usual high tea we always get but it was quite a disappointment since there were no macarons or cupcakes on them. I was looking forward to it but this is what we got. Still good and still pretty.
I only had the berries, these treats disappeared before my eyes. My kids are dessert monsters, I swear.
I had this green tea matcha flan. It was good. I finished it within one minute.
After this place, we went straight to a photoshop meet up nearby and I made a new friend which rarely happens so I'm quite proud of myself.

I blogged about Royal-T here and here on my old blog.
More photos here and here.
